Firestore and NTG-2 with Rode Shock Mount
 
Hi All,

My Firestore is occupying the hot shoe on my A1, so I can't put the NTG-2 there.

I don't see another way to mount it unless I use the mic clamp that came with the camera, which defeats the purpose of buying the shock mount.

Can anybody suggest something that would allow me to use the Shock Mount?

Use the Rode SM5 shockmount in the mic clamp instead.

Reggie,
The J-Rod will give you more bang for your buck, because you will be able to mount a radio receiver in addition to your shock mount. You can also change shock mounts, which can not be done with the Rode.

Yes, thanks Kellen and Jeff.

I went ahead and quickly snagged a Rode mount, but I will *definitely* get a J-Rod for my (hopefully) second A1. (Actually, I may STILL get one for my first one -- I didn't think I'd need a receiver, but I might after all).

This is a great site -- Everyone is quite helpful.

BTW Reggie :
Although very expensive, the Bebob box for under the camera works great for the firestore. It holds it still with cables out of the way, protects it, and keeps the weight under the camera to help balance it.
