Century optics confusion.
 

0HD-06WA-XLH or VS-06WA-XL2. Im totally confused as to which of these to get. When i put 0HD-06WA-XLH into google I get some sellers offering it for the xl series only and others including the xh series also, and B&h photo have a different photo to the one on the century web page. Confused? It seems as if there are too different looking models being sold by shops. Can anyone shed any light for me? I really do not want to end up with the wrong.

This shows the 0HD-06WA-XLH as the correct adapter.

Now, since I already went through all this and bought the 0HD-06WA-XLH, here is what is the same and what is the difference:

The glass in the adapters is identical. The mounting is different. The XLH, the current model, fits correctly on the Canon bayonet mount.

The older model, the XL2, does not mount safely onto the Canon HD camcorders, though it will go on -- and this was told to me by Century. Century also said that the older version can be upgraded with the newer HD mount. However, I did not ask how much.

I know that some people have used the older one on the XH-A1, but since I haven't tried it, I don't know how it might fit. Instead, I trusted Century that it did not fit in a correct/safe way, I believed their was a reason they made a new mount, and I bought the 0HD-06WA-XLH.

What Jack says above is correct. You should purchase the XLH version. If you have an older XL2 mount then it can be converted but it would be cost prohibitive to do so. I beleive most conversions run around $200 USD. If you have problems getting the lens in your country, contact our European Sales Manager Kevan Parker.
