Crazy Audio Problem

On one of my XH-A1's at the 00:30:15 mark, the audio went back to the begining, just copied itself even though the video went on.

What in the world could have done this. I dont have the original tapes here, My mother stores them in case of fire.

Luckily this was the B camera and not the one with the shotgun and Lav mic so I can edit through this but want to find out what caused the mess up.

Any ideas

I can only guess that it must have been something that went wrong either during the capture from tape, or in the subsequent file management. It's not possible for the to "remember" previous audio and then reproduce it, so it has to be a file operation gone wrong on your computer.

I agree, and am curious to know what it was, it like exactly half way through, just copied the first half exactly.

If this was captured video on your PC (which is what it sounds like) , sounds as though the PC or NLE has a file management problem (file pointers getting corrupted), and not a camcorder problem.

Can't say what the issue is but checking the original tape is something many people don't do before blaming the issue on the production equipment. Capture problems or computer issues are most likely the solution in this case as others have said.
