2nd Short - Suspense!

Hey guys,

Here is the second full short I have shot with my Canon XHA1.

It is a suspense trailer, and I would love all of the constructive criticism you can throw at me.

Please let me know what you think!

Thanks,

Takashi

Pretty cool dude. Great shot's! What did you use for the black creature thing?

Doug Davis June 20th, 2008 07:00 AM

Interesting... I liked it...

One thing that may help you out a little is changing the transfer mode on the black substance so that it doesn't completely block out the surface underneath...

The black creature is actually ink that was shot dropping into water. We color corrected and then laid it onto the various surfaces with Apple's Motion to achieve that sinister look and feel.

Very Cool and Highly Creative.

What setting did you use to get virtually no noise in your nigth shots ? blacks look very clean. Nice trailer too.

Thank you very much for the comments everyone. I don't quite remember what Gain Setting I had locked down. I do remember, however, that auto Gain was certainly off. It was most likely at around 0, -3 something like that. And I was using the Panalook2 color preset.

Does anyone have any criticisms? Does the use of sound work? Is it cut well enough to create suspense? How is the lighting?
