Monitor Headset Volume

Hi Everyone,

What volume do you have your headset output set to when you are monitoring? What is the trick between knowing if you need to adjust the volume of the headset or turn up the gain when audio is too quiet (or do you just check out the VU meter?)

Thanks!

I just read a post where you should use the camera meter for the input volume, then adjust the headphones to the comfort level.
I'm going to try that method. I've been recording with a wired lav, and the meter goes up into the red, sounds good so far when I edit to 5.1 surround sound. I'm just thinking the sound may be better if I record just below the red zone. Worth a try.
