Moving Camera Yields Glitchy/Flickering Footage
Can someone tell me what is happening here? (password is "wtf")
60i / Shutter at 60 / everything Manual / stabilization off Captured 60i via cineform. Exported to h.264 via adobe media encoder. Tried every possible combination of h.264 export settings. Thanks for the help. |
When you export to h.264, what is the key framing set to? default is 24, try setting it to 1 first. It will take much longer to render, but if that solves it, then try changing the key frame rate to 23 or go up to 30. I believe it's a render issue. does it do this with other formats?
btw, looks great, using a jib? what kind? |
I don't know if this applies to Cineform and/or Adobe Media Encoder, but Quicktime defaults to keyframe every 24 frames & for the Animation codec, this would be correct. But for NTSC I've read it should basically be 10 times the frame rate... 30fps = key frame every 300 frames. It may be different for a h.264 codec though.
Just curious, why would you capture 30p with 60i footage? Why not just shoot 30f to begin with? |
Thanks, guys. I'll play with the keyframes.
Adrian, when I exported to .wmv I did not have the issue. As for the jib, I'm using the camcrane 200. Bill, I don't know what I was thinking -- I did capture 60i. |
