First Post Autum Shots in Michigan

Here is some fall shots in the Michigan country side. Any criticism welcome. For some reason my pan shots turn out terrible after uploading to vimeo. The original is fine. Any suggestions? Michigan Autum on Vimeo

Relaxing. I didn't know that squirrels could swim until I watched your video. ;)

John Burkey December 7th, 2008 12:27 PM

Don't know how he got there or that they swim either. Didn't notice him until he was on that stump. Looked very hesitant to break for shore. Swim or drown I guess.

Beautiful footage, John. Very well done!

Nice landscape. Shouldn't it be "Autumn", not Autum?

Thanks for the nice comments! I was expecting some constructive criticism. Yes I need that N on the end of Autum. I'm going to try to upload it again and see if I can smooth out the pans soon.

Not sure if you shot in 60i, but my recollection is that Vimeo takes everything to 24p, so you will likely see problems on pans, if I got that right.

John,

This may help you, John with getting your footage into the proper format for vimeo. It helped me a lot.

TUTORIALS: Vimeo HD exporting guides from many editors in the Vimeo Technical Help Forum

Just got mine for christmas, spent two days reading the manual and browsing dvi before I ever shot any footage. Here is some footage that I shot day 1 with the camera in full manual.

Thanks Michael. I see they have a lot of different program tutorials for exporting. My main editor is Edius. I will give it a try.

Hi John, very relaxing, loved the squirrel my only comment would be at 31 secs you zoom out real fast and its a bit jarring. Imho
Thanks for sharing.

Ya I tried to zoom out with music but was not very smooth after the Vimeo upload. I agree it was a litte much compared to the rest of the clip. Thanks for the comments!
