XHA1 Footage vs my XL2 on You Tube

I have had the XHA1 for a week now. I have been using an XL2 but wanted the HD factor so here I sit.

Here is a YouTube video that I just did. (I have a 15 year old camera man no experience and not the best)

The footage does not look that good to me. However, on my TV it looks pretty good. I am wondering if you know of a good pre-set for the camera for shooting these games.

I shot this in 60i TV mode 1/60. (Which is the same as I used on my XL2)

One question I have is pertaining to the motion blur. The XL2 footage was much better.
My guess is that this had nothing to do with the camera but more so the compression in post. What do you think?

You're shutter speed is kinda slow for shooting in 60i in general, not to mention for fast moving subjects. That would account for the motion blur.

I would move it to at least 1/120 or higher. My A1 defaults to 1/120 shutter speed at 30f and 60i.

Higher shutter speed will also help with your slow motion shots.

Thanks for the imput. I will try and test it before my next shoot.

First thing to do is drop the NFL logos from the head of your footage, that is, unless you've paid and obtained permission from the NFL to use them! Those guys don't have much of a sense of humor about borrowing their property.

That is good advice. I actually had not considered them...
