Is it safe to remove the built-in mic?

Hi.

My loose built-in mic finally came out so much that it stopped working. The recording light doesn't light up either. I don't need the microphone because I'm using external ones, and now it's just hanging there looking ugly.

The question is: do you think it's safe to cut the wires holding it in place or could this damage my XH A1 in some way?

Hi Samy,
This came up recently, but I can't remember the conclusion. Try "search" - the thread is around here somewhere...

Cheers
