Multicamera Setup
Maybe way off here, but did a search with no results. I may be helping in a muticam shoot of a concert. We will be using XHA1's and sony ex1. How do we set the cameras so footage matches?
Thanks, John |
My solution is to rely on the kindness of strangers… with flash cameras. Using Avid, I set IN points at the common “flash” frames for each camera.

Sorry I didn't explain good enough. I'm talking about setting the two cameras colors, images, etc. to match as close as possible.
Thanks, John |
Hi!
Try these settings..Canon xh-a1 - reduce red level ..maybe -15 and red green matrix -10. And sony EX1 - use STD 4 gamma,-20 detail level. best regards Raul |
Thanks
Raul,
Could you explain how or what you used to determine these settings. I.e. did you have the cams running to a monitor or what did you use to compare the settings? Thanks, John |
Before the concert, shoot the same white card on both cameras at the same time (i.e. under the same lighting). Ten seconds should be enough. You can use that as a reference for colour correction in your NLE.
