24F HD Slow Mo

Hello all..

When editing something shot in 24P or 24F, when you do a fast camera move or a slow motion effect, the video is supposed to get choppy. Whenever I have tried doing it though, it doesn't ever really seem to happen. Now I am shooting in HD then downconverting to SD when importing into Avid. Is the choppiness eliminated because HD was the original source or am I just not doing something right? I don't know, it seems like if that was the case then I would of heard about it, so I doubt that is why.

so you're concerned that your footage is NOT choppy in slow-mo? odd. most people complain to the contrary, and there is an easy fix. but if your slow-mo looks smooth when shot in 24f, then you are the one. share your secret.

however, if you shot in 60i, converted to 60p, and slowed it down 50% in a 24p timeline, than there's nothing unusual and i'll stop typing.

I am not complaining. I'm just curious as to why the footage does not stutter. I shot it in 24f HD, downconverted when importing, then edited it into a 30i timeline.
