which setup wireless lav mic do you people use with your A1?

and to verify, there is no way to record audio using the onboard stereo mic along with say a shotgun mic or lav mic??

Senny G2 system. G3 and a better lav mic would be nice though.

Not on the XH-A&G1. You need the new "s" model for that. But it's so easy to plug in a second mic to the other XLR (you can do that) and anyway the built in mic is not going to get you great audio, so why bother to use it? If you must have an on-camera mic, mount a shotgun (eg Rode NTG 2) on a shockmount. At least that will get rid of (most of) the camera noise.

Also, stereo mic (on board or otherwise) + lav mic = 3 channels = audio mixer or separate audio recorder.

I keep a short shotgun mounted on the camera for picking up ambient sfx. Have never used the internal mic. For dialog I pull the shotgun off if ourdoors and use it on a boom; indoors I use an Oktava on a boom. I also have a Sennheiser wireless lav system.

Senny G2 as well, also have a pole for my Rode....(never really used it though as generally I shoot on my own)
