? about XHA1 and SD
 

I've had my A1 for about a year now and have only used it to shoot HD. For the first time I will be using it to shoot an SD project. I will of course do some experimenting but I was hoping to get input from others regarding their experienses with SD. The final format for my projects is normally DVD, is there that much of a difference in quality knowing that the final delvey will be DVD? In addtion, on this camera, does the SD mode require less lighting to get a quality picture? And finally, is there anything else I should concern myself with when using the SD mode (wide screen)?

SD's a bit more forgiving, easier to shoot.

I use my A1 mostly in SD as that's the end product I deliver mostly for local TV.

HD is good for zooming and cropping then rendering to SD.

Unless you're shooting SD for a specific reason .. stay with how you're doing it now, HD > SD DVD.
I haven't done so but others post that the final quality is better than SD > SD DVD.

The same good lighting is necessary for both.

I concur with Allen. Though your end produce SD. Having HD footage on your timeline allows you more options. such as zooming in using the crop.....you are less likely to loose resolution that way.
