Tally lamp in XH A1

is it possible to turn the recording tally lamp off in XH A1 ? I can't find anything about it in the owners manual. some help would be appreciated

Hi, Pedro................

It's in the section called "Using the Customized Functions", page 79 to 85 in the Pal manual.

Item number 17, page 85 of the Pal manual, [Tally Lamp]. Set it to 02 for OFF, 01 for Blink, 00 for ON.

I created two custom function files that other than the tally were identical. One had the tally on and the other off. Now you can turn it on/off simply by switching Custom Function files instead of drilling into the CF menus YMMV

Guys I keep my tallies off permanently, I find some nervous type talking heads will start their spiel too soon, I like to get clear of the cam start before they start. I use the CF buttons for other things

Yes. Off for the nervous talent. I like to have a cf for tallies for when I am on camera and using the remote. Also when I have a reporter or other production aware talent.
