XH-A1s Dual Capture or Capture + Playback question
 

3 very amatur-ish people taping some sport competitions here :)

We record participants for 5 minute performances then 3 minutes after each person's performance we playback their video on a monitor 50 feet from the camera. Kinda like an instant replay process. But here is the challenge during the playback process we are also capturing the next participant.

We made the mistake of capturing the video to a file but then also doing playback from a file on the same hard disk. The simultaneous read and write requests to the file are creating choppiness in the capture and buffering in the playback. The events start and stop too close together for us to be able to transfer the file to a different system before we need to begin capturing again.

We are capturing with fire wire to hard disk, can we simultaneously capture with component video to another system for the playback part of the process? In some respects this is kind of like an instant replay during a sporting event. How do they do it lol!
