OK .. if true!

* 16:9 is either 3CCD or single CMOS?

* 3CCD and same size chip 1/4 .. not bigger?

* Canon weren't making any more SD at this level?

* Possible HD?

* Possible HD with native 16:9?

* Possible evrything the same and only made a 16:9 LCD? - Ughhh....

Where DID this still come from???

Grazie

Where's you get that Chris?

Sure it isn't a GL2 in a certain light?

Sure looks like a GL2, but what light turns pearl white into slate gray?

do you think anyone at this point would do a 16:9 SD only? No HDV.

Maybe canon is going to pull a Panasonic stunt and just make a few changes and a different color?

But I had to ask the question, Bob . . I had to!! And I agree - however, it would be a real snub to this part of the market?

Could be. But I find the purchase of a 24p license interesting.

Why Simon? - Is it that they might want to ply us with a progressive, INSTEAD of HDV as a ploy?

Nope... I think any camera they release will be HDV of some sort. But it is interesting that they have just bought a 24p license. After all, why get one unless it is going to be put into a future camera?

Do they need to purchase the 24p license while developing a 24p camera, or can they leave it until a new camera is about to be released onto the market?

The GL2 is long in the tooth, and Canon surely realise the demand for an HDV styled GL2 variant. Hmmmmm.

Waited way a long time for this - but wait the Gl2 in Japan (XV2) has always been Slate gray, please not a cruel tease at this stage?

Yes, could well be a photoshop job! Wouldn't take much to make that LCD look 16:9.
