Focus ring
 
Sorry if this has already been asked, will the focus ring be improved where it has a beginning and end or will it just keep on spinning left and right. Thats one thing i cant stand with the canons is the never ending focus ring spin.

wonder if the auto focus is taking a leaf out of their stills catalogue and running a USM like engine.. .

Very unlikely. If they were using USM there's no doubt they would be marketing it as having USM, like the way they market fluorite and "L". But there is no mention of a USM on this camera or any video camera.

Speaking of the focus ring...I know it's the spinning kind, but does it have any sort of repeatabilitiy function? I know the Z1, for instance, gives you numbers in the viewfinder, and you can shift focus back and forth with pretty good accuracy. I'm wondering if the Canon is going to be able to do that.

The camera does have readouts of the focus distance in meters/feet.

According to Mikko Wilson's report from IBC:
