solution for using 'thin' XLR mic in XH A1/G1 holder?

I've got an ME66 shotgun mic I'd like to use, but it's too thin for use in the XH A1/G1 holder. Is there a solution available that fits on the mic to widen it so it fits better in the holder?

Take your mic (and if you want, unscrew the mic clamp and take it along too) down to your nearest Home Depot, Lowe's or whatever hardware store is nearby. Find the correct diameter rubber bushings... those with a half-inch to two-inch length sleeve will do the job nicely, and will set you back all of a couple of bucks.

Foam tape will work as well- you'll get some good varieties at radio-control hobby stores as r/c'ers use them to isolate their receivers from vibration.
I use them in my helicoters and they come in all sizes and colors and new ones are even "gel" coated- they wont let the mic slip back/forth....try it out and see if it works for you.

thanks Chris & Steve!

I figured there was a simple solution... :-)

Not to "one-up" the Content Mafia himself, but I've just taken some 1/4" thick packing foam that was lying around, cut it into rectangular strips, and wrapped it around a thin shotgun mic as filler/padding/stabilization/extra vibration isolation between the mic and the camera mount. Cost = 0 dollars. Works great.

A bicycle tube works wonders. Just cut up the rubber to size.

One word, Gaff.

Stuff in some spare foam from a hard case if you have one.
