importing footage???
 

Sorry if this has been gone over before.. however I am having trouble importing footage into FCP 5.1.2 with the XH-A1.

FCP says the camera is not detected.. however it is perfectly recognized in iMovie (go figure).. I don't want to import with imovie..

How do I get it to work with FCP (settings?)

Is the camera in VCR Playback mode? Have you checked the Signal Setup menu in that mode to insure than the playback standard is set to HDV or Auto, and that the HDV Downconvert option is set to Off? What kind of video is it... 60i, 30F or 24F?

I got this far but now its stopping after every timecode break.. any sugguestions?

I have already un-checked "create new clip on Start/Stop"
Shouldn't that have fixed this? I want the tape to run all the way through without stoping..
