XLR and Main Mic

Been looking at the manual for the A1 in anticipation of it's arrival on Monday and having trouble understanding something. On my XL2 when I shoot, I typically have the main mic on, audio set for 32k and I use channel 3 for a wireless and channel 4 for a 2nd more higher quality shotgun and sometimes for a 2nd wireless.

If what I'm reading is correct, the second that I plug something into the XLR jack on the A1 the main mic is shut off, is that the way it works? Or is there a way to do 4 channels @ 32k?

Unfortunately there's no 4-channel audio mode on the XH series camcorders. That's one big advantage that the XL series has over the XH.

I am able to put in two mono mics right?

Yep. 2 XLR inputs are supplied.

Chris thanks, is there a way to keep the wireless and shotgun plugged in and use the menu to turn on the XLR's or if it's in it's on... the manual is unclear about that.

The buttons on the side of the cam would actually do that.

Incorrect. The buttons on the side of the cam actually do NOT do that.

To switch between the XLR inputs and the built-in stereo mic, open the menu and go to
Audio Setup > XLR Input > On or Off.
