Interesting constant zoom speed feature

Here is a great way I have found to make incredibly smooth and controlled slow to medium zooms with the A1.

Adjust the constant zoom speed dial to a very low setting (like 1) and start your shot, then zoom with the remote. As the camera zooms use a very light touch on the camera and evenly increase the zoom speed dial during the zoom and if desired, evenly slow the speed nearing the end of the zoom. The dial turns quite easily and does not seem to transmit any vibration if careful. The zoom itself starts out barely perceptible and then has a even and perfectly controlled increase to other useful speeds.

Have fun!
