Lcd Shade Hood?

I will be shooting outside and I'm wondering if you guys recommend an Lcd hood to avoid the sun reflection.
I know that canon is not providing any for this specific camera.
Are you guys can tell me what are you doing for this situation or any home made device done for this?

thanks

Hoodman makes a nice one with a 2x LCD Magnifier for $40 at B&H. I was delighted with it on my A1; I'd give that a try.

Hi Jose,

I've made one for each of my 4 Sony CAMs and for each of my LCD Monitors, 5" to 15".

Check my posts to find Pics of one of them.

Some thin stiff cardboard or plastic from a VHS Hard Cover, Velcro, maybe some duck tape and flat black paint, a few minutes time and you've got one.

I've even made one with a magnifying lens like Jim mentioned.

If you search around a bit, there's a pretty good thread on this very subject. A couple pics too.

I jut got the hoodman/lens combo, very happy with it. Crank up the sharpness on the lcd, and it works even better.

Jim, just checked B&H and all three pages of Hoodman products - couldn't find anything that sounds like a fit with the A1. Do you have a link? Thanks... Steve

If you look up the other thread in the XH A1 forum about LCD shades, I've got pictures of that hoodman on my XH A1. Works like a champ.

Here ya go. The A1 has a 2.7" LCD, so it fits perfectly. The price is $29.95, I think I misquoted it at $40 before.
