component out and lcd monitor w/24f

okay maybe one of you dvinfo wizards can clear this up for me, I can't seem to track down an answer myself. If i'm monitoring my video on an external 1920x1200 lcd monitor (computer display) and outputing a 24f signal through the components what exactly is going on? The manual reads that compnents output 1080i and i know 24f is a true progressive output signal that originates from an interlaced capture, right so far? So on my lcd is it diplaying an interlaced image? Because it looks progressive to me though i'm certainly not an expert at this yet.... Also when i play back a tape off the cam through the components and compare it to the same footage that has been captured on my hard drive it looks darker and more saturated coming directly off the cam through the components. Is this just a result of the mpeg compression or am I missing something here? DVinFo RuLeS!!!!!!

oh yeah, and to any of you who might be considering an A1...holy crap it looks incredible on a 1080 display! We're talking face melting awsomness here folks!

it is 1080p embedded in 1080i. you will see interlacing
until the extra frames are removed.

does the lcd not automatically deinterlace?

Will Griffith March 26th, 2007 12:38 PM

I believe some do. But if it is just a computer monitor with
component inputs, then I doubt it.

We have a XL-H1 connected to a 23" Apple with a SDI to
DVI converter and it shows interlaced as well. looks fine,
just interlaced.
