24f

does 24f lose vertical resolution?
and if so why?
isn't it basically the same as 24p does that lose resolution?

A quick search of "24f vertical resolution" turned up the following threads - and this is just a quick glance. My guess is that you will find what you are looking for in here.

so what is the res of 24f from an xha1?

how much do u lose.. 10% 20% 30%? what?

Pete Bauer May 6th, 2007 09:35 PM

Andrew, welcome to DVinfo. This has been one of the more popular topics so there's a fair number of threads in the XL-H1 and XH-A1/G1 forums. Most common questions like this have been discussed, sometimes ad nauseum. A search this thread in the XH forum:

Pour yourself a tasty beverage and browse through DVinfo and you'll find the answers to questions you haven't even asked yet! Cheers.

In one theory, up to 50%. In practice, well.... people measured it to loose just 10-12% ; most people can't see any resolution drop compared to interlaced.

Nobody wanted to answer specifically, because really, nobody knows for sure.
