I cannot yet afford a separate mike for wildlife material..however want to get rid of ambiant noise and wind. which rycote 'windjammer' do you recommend, and do you need a foam core around the mike? or just a windjammer? thanks

Well before you spend some money, have you tried a really thick winter sock? I've done it in the past for my DVC30 with the XLR mic. Worked nicely and didn't cost me a thing.

Wool sock? Did it have any noticeable effect on the frequency response? (Some material may be more transparent to sounds at different frequencies than other material. The ideal wind noise suppression system would have a flat frequency response.
