Head alignment problems

I've posted about this already in the long black line section, but thought I'd post in here as seen as it's specific to my camera.

Basically I shot some footage the other day. Then a couple of days later I got a call from the production company saying that they can't digitise my footage. Basically on the first tape the first 10 or so minutes has problems it plays differently depending on which machine you use but one gave horizontal lines and another gave pixelation and blocks. The sound is not effected and it plays funny on the XHA1 as well. The other tape was mostly fine apart from one section had some pixelation.

The camera is pretty new and I've always used the same tape stock on it (Sony.) The company uses cheapy cameras for playback so it's likely the heads could have gotten dirty. Though would this still cause the tape to play incorrectly in other cameras? If it doesn't it means that the problem is with the XHA1. So just wanted to know if anyone else had had problems like this?

I will call the retailers on Monday to get advise from them, but just wondered if anyone else has had similar problems?

Thanks!

Kathy,

I've addressed your concerns again in your other thread. You're new to the forum, and probably haven't read the FAQ. We generally don't allow multiple postings.

I realise that, I just wanted to see if the alignment problem was something that was a problem with my camera model. I've noticed that a few others have mentioned similar problems. And I'm more likely to catch XHA1 users in this section!
