Video Preview via DV
 

Sorry to ask such a dumb question. But I can't seem to get Vegas and the XHA1 to let me preview video to my TV through the firewire of the XHA1 (and then out the composite)

Vegas doesn't seem to recognise the XHA1 as a preview device.

Guidance please...(I normally use an old DV camera but I've lent it to someone and can't get the XHA1 to pass the video through).

To stream via firewire into in full screen mode, use VLC player.

Thanks for the quick reply, but I wanted it going the other way, from Vegas to the XHA1 and out to composite/component.

Still, I've figured it out - you have to switch to DV whilst in camera mode and then go back to VCR mode, you can't change it from VCR mode...
