XL2 and HV20 capture in FCP?

I am currently working on a project with FCP Studio --using a Mac Pro quad core 3ghz with 8gb ram and 4 750 internal hd.

My question is this (yes it has been covered elsewhere but I am still not sure what the optimum should be--thus my question):

I am shooting B roll with an HV20--mostly 24p but with some 60i and then I am shooting with an Xl2 mostly at 60i (I am shooting surf footage thus the 60i which my research tells me is probably better for fast movements and for using slow mo in editing) I also have some footage shot with the Xl2 and Gl2 at 24p.
All shot at 16:9. All footage was shot to tape(HD and SD).

Does anyone have any feedback as to which capture codecs are going to be best for optimum quality when mixing the footage in one timeline in Final Cut Studio?

My concern is optimum quality. End use will be DVD and TV.

Thanks
Ron
