Breaking out the old XL2 for some time lapse

A good friend of mine was a painting mural in the hood and asked if I could document it. I dug out an XL2 with a 3x wide angle len placed it in my neighbors office facing the street & left it to run for four days.

That looked pretty sweet, David! Real nice work!

What timelapse setting did you use on the XL2?

Best,

Jeff

The interval was 5 minutes
Interval record time 1 second

Over the course of four days about 15 minutes of footage was captured. The video was then sped up 1000% in FCP and color corrected with Magic Bullet.

I checked out your site nice stuff, I miss Monument Valley.

Hi David,

I usually shoot realtime with the timelapse stuff, and speeding it up in Premiere Pro. Tried the camera's interval settings a while back (actually in Monument Valley), but the clouds looked really choppy. (But from your work, I may need to re-visit the XL2's interval settings again :)

Thanks for visiting our website! Me and my wife usually go to Monument Valley at least 3 times a year (my brother in law works there at Gouldings Lodge), and we're planning to go up there again sometime in August. Hope to bring our HV30, and capture the valley's glory in HD!

Best,
