The XL2 has not yet been listed in the compatibility chart for Canon's webcam software called DV Messenger 2. Get it for free at http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/con...4&modelid=9400. Contact them directly concerning XL2 compatibility with DV Messenger 2.

It should work. Even when not using the special DV messenger my GL2 worked.

I'm guessing it will.

Keep in mind that the XL1 and XL1S didn't. So, the GL2 might,
but who knows.... till someone actually tries it out!

The damn website won't let me download the software. First I went to that page and there's no download links. Then, you click on "buy this product" and it says there's no dealers. So, I Google the site for a download page and find one. It has me fill out a registration form and submit it. Then it give me a download link that just opens a popup that closes itself. What kind of crap is this? If they don't want to give away the software anymore, then just say it's discontinued instead of playing games.
