XL2 color settings
 

Question for you guys ....

I love my XL2 but have to agree that I find the coloring that comes from the DVX's gamma settings more appealing. I know that this is achievable in post so my question is if I'm going to color correct in post, should I shoot with my XL2 with the cinegamma and cinematrix settings on or should I just shoot with the default settings on? Is it better for me to shoot with certain settings to retain more accurate information for post color correcting? And does anyone have experience with the Nattress Filters? Are they good in simulating this type of look? Thanks guys ...

Not a lot of people have put the camera through its paces with
things like this. Why not do some extensive tests (which REALLY
helps you to understand what all of the settings do and how it
influences the look), then capture the footage and look at the
differences on the vectorscopes (more serious NLE's have this)
to see what is different and whether you are loosing stuff.

Then do test color corrections to see what works best for you
and the look you want.

Most movies have at least a slightly different look and feel and
some completely, so I would not try to stick with one setting.
Run some tests yourself and decide what YOU like!
