Who would be interested in this....DVD

Chris has approved this post on the FX1, so I thought I'd put it here too.

I'm thinking of building a DVD of sample footage that would contain:

HD1 vx FX1 in Side by Side tests
FX1 vs XL2 in side by side tests

FX1 in it's various frame rates shooting several subjects - skin tone, wide angle, detail, close up, poor light, outdoor, etc.

XL2 in it's various frame rates, shooting severl subjects, as above.
In short something that would be 10-12 minutes in length in SD on a DVD - BUT contain the original files for you to view in their native formats on the DVD.

We sell it for $14.95 plus $5.00 shipping for a total of $19.95. You would be welcome to a $10.00 rebate on the release of our future products on the XL2 and the FX1.

If you would be interested in this - or want to make a suggestion, please email me at dkelly@masterworks.bc.ca.

I just thought this might be a help, and if enough people are interested, we would produce it in the next 7 days and get it out fast. I don't see it as a huge money maker, but a service to our community of users and enthusists.

I await your input.

Cheers

DBK

Well there seems to be enough interest.

I started the project today. It should ship on Tuesday. I encourage pre-orders, especially the ones to the US as I am in the US on the 9th and would like to ship them all out on the same day(atleast the first orders)

Send a paypal payment to dkelly@masterworks.bc.ca Amount is $19.95 US$

An update for you. I also got hold of a Sony DXCD50WSL
Widescreen. This camera head sells for $19,000 then you can add another $10K for the DSR1 back and this broadcast lens is another $15K - so we will be comparing the following cameras:

Sony FX1 ($3600)
JVC HD1(I no longer own the 10) ($2200)
Canon XL2($5,000)
Sony DSR300($10,000)
Sony DXCD50WSL($44,000)

Lastly, I have some Cine-alta footage that I can use in the comparison.

We'll show outdoor, indoor exsisting light, simple studio light set up, close-up, flowers, skin tones, low light outdoor too.

Variable frame rates on the XL2 and different settings on the FX1
SD and HD from the two HDV cameras.

This will be in SD mode but you will also receive the HDV and dv files in RAW. A windows and mac player will be included.

Ships Tuesday, November 9th. Please Buy now to avoid shipping delays.

All for $14.95 plus $5.00 for shipping. (Coupon good for a $10.00 discount off our future FX1 and XL2 DVD's)

Paypal only: dkelly@masterworks.bc.ca

Thanks and please post any suggestions you might have. I hope to make this the definitive tool for reviewing these new prosumer cameras with the big guns.
