wide angle adapter for manual AND servo?

I can't find the thread but sometime ago someone mentioned that the century .7x wide angle adapter could be made to fit onto both the manual 16x and the IS servos lens. I don't remember which way but it was either the "manual" Century lens could have a screw loosened and it would fit on the IS lens that way or it was the "IS" mount Century that could be loosened and made to fit the manual lens.

I know this is not supported but I have a Wide anlge for the 16x IS lens and want to order a 16x manual and it would be a bonus if I could tweak it to fit. I understand this is not how it is designed but somewhere, someone on these forums mentioned that it can be done.

Anyone remember this or can find this thread? I've searched until I'm blue!

Thanks

Nobody has any recollection of this being discussed??

Nope

I can't find the thread you remember, Marty. If you do (or somebody else does), please give a shout here.

BTW, how's that Lilliput LCD working out?

Marty,

You may be referring to comments I made about the Century .6 adapter I had for the 14x manual lense. It uses a clamp on mounting scheme and I was able to clamp it to the outer surface of my UV filter on the 16X auto and the 20X auto.

In fact, I shot some 24p 16X9 with the .6 adapter clamped on the front of the XL-2.

I have since sold the adapter to another DV Info member.
