Canon ZR-1000 Zoom Remote Control

It is around $170. Is there any other option to consider?
Is it fully compatible with the dvx100e?

It is not compatible with the DVX -- the ZR1000 is a LANC controller and Panasonic does not use LANC (only Sony and Canon have this). For the DVX you'll need a VariZoom or a Zoe specifically for Panasonic DVX and DVC camcorders. The Canon ZR1000 will work fine with any Canon or Sony camcorder that has a LANC jack (that would be all Sony camcorders and the Canon XL1, XL1S, XL2, GL1 and GL2). Hope this helps,
