On Board hard-disk recorder

Hello,
I have a question about a feature that a features list indicated was possible. THey indicate that an "on board hard-disk recorder" is available to be attached to the accessory braket.
Has any one had any experience with this device and does it really allow you to drop the real-time video to hard-drive on the camera? Am I miss understanding the function of this accessrory?
