Installing the Backup Battery

Hello, I'm just recently the proud owner of a Canon XL2. Can't believe I finally own one! Well my problem is that the backup battery seems to be way too big to fit in the cover. I can't get the cover closed and I've been at it for a solid ten minutes. Am I crazy or has anyone else had this problem?!

Pay close attention to the way it slides into place. You don't just lay it in there. I had to wrestle with mine a bit until I stopped to look at the diagram.

BTW, congratulations on your new camera purchase.!

Hello Nico,
The backup battery was a trip until I figured out the way it slides in. When it is seated in the battery tray, it is off centered. Starting on the side where the "plastic loops" are located, you slide it down and in. It will suddenly slip down in slide in off center and make contact with the metal contacts.
