Tv = Shutter value?

OK, I'm a logical guy and I can see how you get "Av" as the descriptor for "Aperture value". But what does the T in "Tv" stand for in the Shutter priority mode?

I'm not sure this is the official answer, but I've heard it referred to and think of it as "Time" value. It would be more intuitive to me for it to be "Sv" for shutter, but "Tv" seems to be a standard.

Time value it is. This goes way back, sort of an industry standard.

Perfect! Now that I know and can mentally associate it, I'll not forget.

Now if I can just remember what the heck "Coring" is...I've read (and re-re-reread) the definition. Guess I'll just leave that alone since I'm not exactly sure why I'd want to fiddle with it: "Step away from the Coring!"
