XL2 Tranfer Setup
 

The XL2 has the capability to transfer setup data between cameras. I know this is to simplify the standardization of multiple camera shoots.

Since the capability is available to digitally communicate the setup data off of the camera or onto the camera, shouldn't I be able to communicate this data between a camera and a computer? It would be great to keep a library of setup files, cataloged with images from their use, and then select the setup desired for the particular shoot conditions. Is this capability out there and I just don't know about it?

The capability isn't there yet, but it is coming soon to an XL2 near you. The type of process you describe will most likely be among the first software offerings from companies that have licensed the XL2 SDK from Canon. I'm looking forward to seeing this happen, hopefully very soon now.

I guess I'll be in line right behind you then, anxiously awaiting this capability.
