MM-XL1 mini mount for XL2

I've been considering purchasing this part for my XL2. I'm using the stock XL2 mic, but I notice a lot of rumble, zoom, and focus noise on my recordings. I want to eliminate these sounds, but I don't know if this part will help enough. Is anybody using this part with their XL2, and if so, how much does it really help in cutting down all these extraneous noises? Thanks.

Using the mini mount with the system isolator will go a long way towards getting rid of camera to mic noise coupling. Also, another thing you can do in the meantime is to only tighten the stock mic holder enough to keep the mic from falling out. This helps to isolate the mic as well.

Thanks for the suggestion, Greg. I tried doing this, however, and I didn't notice any different results. I'm just worried about spending a few hundred dollars on the system isolator and the mini mount and then not getting any real noticable results. Anybody else have experience with these parts?

Nothing is going to compare with getting the mic off the camera and closer to the talent. Meanwhile, K-Tek makes a suspension shock mount that fits into the XL2 microphone holder and holds the mike a bit further away from the camera. Don't know if this is the part you were thinking about getting but it couldn't hurt.
