How do I find Runtime Hours/Drum Usage?

Does anyone know where in the menus can I find this information? I've looked all over the manual, and the camera and can't find it?

Thanks!
Fletch.

That's because the information is not there / available (at least not to the users,
the factory may have access to such information if the camera logs it. But that
is an unknown as far as I know).

Rob is right. If that sort of info is in there, Canon is not telling. I've sent camcorders into the U.S. service centers for cleaning and checkups before and have requested that they check the number of hours on the heads. The response was something along the lines of "we don't provide that information." Sad but true.

This is one of the few things that the DVX-100a has that I wish my XL2 had. Oh well.... next time Canon.

Thanks for the replies.

It's a shame they don't allow that setting to be displayed. How would you know how long and how much it's been used??? Oh, well.

THanks again!!!

Fletch.

You could always keep a log of how many tapes you run through the camera. That would give you an estimate--that's what I do. It ain't perfect, but neither am I.
