Exposure bar
In the display during recording, there is an exposure bar (I believe it overlays the zoom bar).
Can anyone tell me exactly what this exposure bar represents? For instance, does it relate somehow to overall exposure of the entire picture? If so, how? I couldn't find any more detail about it in the manual. Thanks, Kelly |
There's only a very brief mention of it on page 61.
Basically when you shoot in the A, Av or Tv mode and press the Exposure Lock button, the bar appears in order to show you where your exposure value is. Ideally the marker wants to be in the center of the bar. Manually adjust the iris up or down to put it there, or if you're already at the limit of the f/stop range then you can add or subtract shutter speed and/or gain. It's just a guage to show how under or overexposed you are (relative to the entire image, but the metering is weighted to the lower center of the screen). |

I'd like to just rehost the entire institutional knowledge of you and Charles and Barry and Edward and a few others here on this website. Can you get Spock to do the Vulcan Mind Meld before he dies too? |
In my case it comes from working way too many trade shows, thereby learning from the talented people that are with me in the booth. I'm constantly learning as I go; I wouldn't begin to pretend to know as much as the other names you've mentioned.
