PAL XL2. Where do you get yours in Europe?

For those in Europe, where did you get your PAL XL2? Prices are always so high in Europe. Any tips for the cheapest place to buy? Also does Canon offer an European warranty or is it only within the countries? Thanks.

For the record, I tried a search on the subject, but didn't turn up anything substantial.

I get the xl2 in Germany Aachen (I`m from Holland) in a better photo-shop, but here are some internet adresses

Thanks Harry. It seems, unless I buy from Singapore or Honk Kong, it will cost me way over 4,000 euros. While in the U.S. they can be had for way under 4,000. :(

Hey Mike, thanks.

Do they have a website?

Mike Hardcastle August 13th, 2005 02:38 PM

http://www.rgbdirect.co.uk/

here you go mate, just search for "xl2" £3250.00

Mathieu Ghekiere August 13th, 2005 06:47 PM

3250 pounds is still 4745 euros if I'm right...

btw: I'm not slamming the price or anything, the XL2 is an expensive cam and very low prices are mostly suspicious, just wanted to point it out for Michael.
Btw: it's such a pity that camcorders are soo expensive in Europe!

Michael Maier August 14th, 2005 08:23 AM

Thanks. But, yep, Mathieu is right. It's about 4,700 Euros. That's a lot. Specially when you go to BH and see them selling the XL2 NTSC for $3,999,95 :(

Got mine from Park Cameras, they're doing it for £3190. Cheapest I could find anywhere in the country, except online.

I don't mind buying online if I can find a better price :)
