16x9+anamorphic+close-up
i am planning to shoot 16x9 in addition to a panasonic 4x3 to 16x9 adaptor. i am not getting enough focus on the telephoto end ( as i expected). would a close-up filter solve this or would it be just as out-of focus?

Close up with the Standard 20X lens
I'm not familiar with the adapter you mentioned. However, I have shot some great close up footage in 16X9 with the standard 20X lens. I've found that sometimes it is best to switch the focus to manual especially when the object of the focus is somewhat off center. Also, back off. This is not a macro lens so you can't get to close to your subject. Still, 6-10 feet is adequate enough for most close up work I've required.

I was using this pana 16x9 adaptor with the xl1 to get "real" 16x9. problem is, the minumum focusing distance is increased. i think it was made for the pana dvx 100. anyway, i'm planning to use it WITH xl2 16x9 to get 2.2:1 aspect (if i computed it correctly). to solve the telephoto problem, use a +3 close-up filter... this shoot is in april so i guess i gotta decide soon if i'll buy the close-up filter... problem is, i don't know how well this close-up filter will work.
