Presets won't turn on?

I finally got around to playing with my presets a bit and ran into a snag. When I try to select a preset, I can see the mode change as I scroll through the three options. As soon as I exit the selection menu, the camera goes back to default settings. For example, I have a black and white preset, when I select it through the menu, it changes the settings to black and white, but as soon as I exit the selection menu to begin filming, the camera has defaulted to a setting which displays and records color.

Any ideas? Am I missing something obvious? Probably.

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Hi Nick,

The problem is that you're trying to use the menu to activate the presets. It doesn't work that way. The menu is only for setting them up and editing them, etc. To activate a preset while shooting, use the CP Select and CP On/Off buttons on top of the camera body (above the power dial but below the handle). See page 71 of your XL2 operator's manual for detailed instructions.

Got it. All I had to do was flip another page in the manual.
