you will be able to tell what footage came from which camera.

File is a liitle large, compressed H264, will require QT

I am waiting to recieve my EF100-400mm lens, so I will be able to get close up on the eagles and ospreys in the future

Any feed back would be great. I know the clips don't flow together and yes I do have a tripod, (just didn't use it for all the shots), but I am trying to learn to be better with the camcorder, I am use to doing photography, this has been a new experience, so I am taking suggestions....feel free

Hi Chris,

I liked the footage - particularly the buffalos. If the clips don't fit together, why keep them together? You might get more comments if you separate the footage into themed sections and keep the file sizes small - say 3-5MB per clip.

Another idea would be to post this in the wildlife section of this forum.

Chris, I second much of what Grant says. Keep your file-size small, 46MB is very much to download for several people at this forum.

Your footage had some very nice scenes especially the water and buffalo scenes, your choice of music was excellent. I don't like the time laps of the skies, too long movements between the frames. And some of the scenes had much unsteadiness as you mention yourself.
When you got the EF100-400mm you HAVE to use a steady tripod. Very small movements even light wind will cause unsteadiness in your footage.

Hi Chris,

I enjoyed watching the clip. I wasn't bothered by the file size because I am on DSL but many are not so smaller file sizes are probably a good idea. I envy you being able to shoot out west. It is something I am really looking forward to.

Listen to Per, he gives good advice. Look at the clips on his website, they are really good. I would also recommend keeping your cam strapped down to a tripod. Frame your shots so the action happens in the frame. If you are going to do a pan shot then practice on smoothness and I would recommend no fast zooms. You may also want to look for what others here are using for scene setting. I think this would really help punch up the colors.

Cannot View Clips

Hi All,

I'm having problems viewing these clips. I've seen this a few times now when people post clips to view. Some play and some don't. This one try's to open Quick Time, then says I have a necessary file missing to play it and it's not available on the Quick Time server ? I have updated Quick Time on my laptop pc (Version 5 ?), but get the same message. It plays the sound, but the video is just a white screen ?

Anybody know how to get these types of clips to play on a Windows XP laptop ? I'm missing out on viewing lots of peoples work, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Allan

in the future I will seperate the files, thanks

concerning the time lapse, this is something I would like to do, but I guess I am not doing it right.

I have the camera set to the longest record time at the shortest time between record times...what would you guys/girls suggest for the best time lapse setting, yeah that song worked well.

As I was editing the water part we were watch Lord of the Rings, and that song was in the background as I was watch the edit, it just seemed to work well.

I am going to do some more this weekend so I will apply your recommendations, thanks again.

The videos will require the most current version of Quicktime, I believe the cave one takes iTunes as it is a .m4v

I can't see them either, isn't Flash Movies better for the internet?

Chris,

There is some good time lapse over at dvxuser.com. Also some settings discussion. Check this thread for starters.
