Dead Cell?
My friend has been shooting with the XL-2, and while reviewing some footage he sees what looks like to be a dead cell in the middle near the bottom. Could this be something on the lens that he's not seeing? Also is there a way to fix it in the already shot footage?
Here's 2 screen captures. Any Ideas? http://www.seventhentity.com/deadcell.jpg http://www.seventhentity.com/deadcell2.jpg |
Looks like a stuck pixel. That would have to go to Canon service to map out that pixel.
There are plug-ins that will get rid of a stuck pixel like that using nearest neighbor approximation. Google search is your friend for finding that stuff. -gb- |
Was the gain up? What I have found is that having the gain up or the shutter low or a combo of both will cause this.

I had a similar problem when I first received my XL-2. At first I thought it was something on the lense but it wasn't. The odd thing is that it hasn't shown back up since.
