Film Speed

Hey guys, does anyone have any idea what ASA film speed the XL2 sensor would compare to? Is this even possible to judge? Thanks ahead.

Its heard its 320 ASA with -3 gain. I don't know what the gain turns it to if its turned to 3dB, 6dB ect. One day I was doing tests of digital vs celluloid (film is the final product, not a material) using 400 ASA 35mm Celluloid, and the images came out almost the same using 0 gain. Is turning up your gain like using a higher ASA film? AND... is there a number that tells you the range the film (meaning digital and celluloid) has. Not the speed (ASA) I want the range. So that consivably there could one day be a film made that will not reqire you to set an f-stop, it will pick up All the detail in dark areas and All detail in light areas. Kinda like an HDRI image without needing to take multiple exposures.

The "film" speed is doubled with every 3dB step of gain, i.e. if it's 320 ASA at -3dB it will be 640 ASA at 0db, 1280 ASA at +3dB and so on.
