Audio Question

As you can see I am a newbe with the XL 2. Today question is there a way to use the front mic (the one that came with the XL 2 ) and the Ch 2 rear XLR at the same time together?
Example Front mic for ambient sound and a wireless mic for the talent.
Thanks for you help

Not in 16-bit mode, because 16-bit is only one stereo pair. The onboard mic is stereo, so it uses both channels. If you want to use another mic with it, you have to switch to 12-bit audio mode.

Do a search on this. It has been discussed many, many times.

Jarrod's right. It seems to be one of the few bad things about the XL2. Only workaround is to get a different shotgun mic and plug it in to one of the XLR jacks in back. Or get an adapter to put on the shoe and hook it in there. You're SOL if you plan to stick with the stock mic.

Unless you REALLY want to shoot 12-bit and do the conversions in post (waste of time...and time is money).
