Matte box for XL2

I have an XL@ with a 16x manual servo lens. I've been trying to find a matte box that would best suit the camera. Does anyone know what type of matte box I should be looking at?

Alex,

Cavision

Check out this sight, they are about as reasonably priced as you can find.

I've been using the Chrosziel 4x4 mattebox with rails and follow-focus. I can't imagine life without it! http://www.16x9inc.com/cgibin/eDatCa...C-CANON-XLH1MB

The Caivision is nice too.

...and for some reason I cannot attach my photo... it says I'm already using it in another thread...

Anyways, here's the thread with a photo of my matte box. I'm 4 posts down on this page: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=71346

16:9 matte box

Will the cavision bellows matte box be a problem if i want to shoot in 16:9?

John Threat January 30th, 2007 11:56 PM

No. I use the Cavision Matte Box with the Canon XL2 with a Manual 16x lens and ocassionally the 3x lens. It works fine with both. I keep it on the camera a lot, and I have it setup with pistol grips for hand held shooting at the moments notice.

It doesn't do too well with the wide angle adapter from century optics, but thats a limitation of the adapter and is not a problem unless you use that one adapter.
