New XL2

After a lot of searching for a new cam, I took the plunge and bought a XL2 it arrived last week
I’ve not put a tape into it yet set some presets and just checked through the menu/zoom/etc, it’s a bit like my XM2 with a lot more choice.
It’s been raining a lot this week in southeast England
So being a engineer, retired I made up and fitting for my Sennheiser radio receiver and fixed it on to the battery back plate, and put on a follow focus unit that I made a year or so ago for another cam, I changed it from a gear type drive to a rubber wheel drive much better no noise for the mic to pick up or gear meshing problems.
Next job is to mill a slot for a long tripod plate I made few weeks ago, when that is done and all parts fit OK
I can get on with the business of using the XL2 rain permitting, first trip out to video Kingfishers hopefully diving for small fish.

I’ve learnt a lot from reading through the many pages on this great site.
